Lunar Birthright wife of Darius De Tangea, and scout with a variety of nature spirit contacts, Yolande of the Sternwaters fled the Ourathan Isles a decade ago to avoid the ugly consequences of a clan conflict. She crossed the sea and wandered through Parack and Dernmarik, working as a mercenary and eventually winding up in the Alarian Imperium. Darius, an Imperial mage, encountered her during his travels. As the two of them grew to know each other, their relationship blossomed into marriage.

Yolande stands approximately 5'7" and weighs 150 lbs. Her skin is tanned and she has a solid, energetic build. She normally binds her long black hair behind a hairband or headband. Her brown eyes are vibrant and ever-observant of her environment, and smiles come easily to her.

While she wears the elaborate dresses, shawls, and other garments of a nobleman's wife in the Imperium, and often dresses like an Imperial scout in the field, Yolande still wears male Ourathan dress when she can manage it. This resembles medieval French fashion: a shirt, tunic, drawers, doublet, and hose. Most of her magical items-the elfin cloak, trackless boots, and lucky charm-are also made in the Ourathan style. The shimmer mail is of Parack manufacture, purchased before she had to flee home.

Yolande also carries a polished, knobbed quarterstaff and a knife when she's out in the field. The latter is a useful tool. The former is actually her preferred weapon-she likes to keep opponents at some distance from her.
