Phelar Windblade, as she is known now, was the youngest daughter of a prominent Coalition States family that lived on the fringes of Coalition States territory. When she was only 7 a Splugorth Slaver barge raided deep into the heartland of North America, managing to capture Phelar among others in their raid. That was only the beginning of her torture.

From the time of her capture Phelar would find herself subjected to training, indoctrination, and in some cases punishment when she did something wrong by her new found masters. That was just the beginning, as Splynncryth wanted to develop a new type of Maxi-man. One that could more easily operate in the wilderness of this new world, of Earth. Even though they were carefully training her, and instilling her with the magic tattoo's from the moment she was captured, they also began installing other things into her. The first, a bio-wizardry item that linked her to a black lynx, much in the same way that a Shifter links with an animal. Complete with the same disadvantages, so as they augmented the animal, Phelar would feel it's pain! It was hoped that this pain would cause a bond between the two, it worked beyond their wildest dreams as both would die to protect the other. However, the trauma of the animals surgeries caused the young girl to eventually stop speaking. They hoped the continued training, indoctrination, and the like would help fix the girl. By the time her training as a Maxi-man and with her companion was completed, the project was deemed a failure.

Splynncryth however didn't deem the entire thing a failure, he wanted to explore the strength of this creation for future attempts. With that in mind the pair was slotted for the arena. Trial by fire, trial by death. So at age 14 Phelar and the lynx, dubbed Jasmine, were subjected to battle after battle in the Arena. Their teamwork and skills seemed unprecedented and after while would catch the eye of a would be buyer from Center, from Phase World. Having gotten his fill of the the girl, and all the knowledge he could derive from the experiment, she was sold.

At Center her life was hell. For two years she was forced into a life of abuse and fighting in the arena's at Center at the hands of her new master. Even then though, her new master still taught her a means to communicate, Trade 1, a language that could use words, or not. In the end though, even with all of that that longing to escape was there, and eventually it won out. Phelar and Jasmine, when the opportunity presented itself grabbed whatever they could that would fetch a credit, or that they could use, and ran. Ran and hid.
