Kor

BOOK 1: Kor is a middle aged man who, more often than not, wears a knowing smile on his face as if he's in on some secret joke whether he's in a friendly conversation with a friend or in the middle of a pesh addict den. Tall and wiry, Kor sports long, rather unkempt black hair and deep tanned skin. Some that are into a bit of an off variety of men may consider Kor handsome but he doesn't really know how he looks. That is due to his glazed over green eyes that see not the light of day nor his own appearance. Of course, that's when they aren't covered by a thin wrap of cloth that is more often than not wrapped around his head. It's probably why his clothes never seem to match well either. On most days, he wears his favorite, yet somewhat worn, red, open-chested, no-sleeved coat with a pair of blue and white (yellow-tinged from overuse) billowy pants.

Two things stick out about Kor that immediately mark him for what he is; the iron-bound leather tome hanging from his waist and a raven perched on his shoulder. The raven is about as peculiar as Kor himself; white feathers and beady red eyes mark it as an albino though that doesn't stop it from being just as loud as your normal raven, Cawing at frequent intervals and constantly tapping its beak on the small leather shoulderpad Kor wears.

BOOK 2: A year in Kor's life has passed and it has seen him miraculously cured of his blindness by Haleen's missing father, restoring them to their mischievous green glint. With some of the money gained through his ventures with Almah and her company, he's finally replaced his old bedraggled clothes (though he still has them hidden away from Haleen's keen eyes for nostalgia sake) with a more respectable outfit, fitting the role of headmaster of his new university of magic he established. Off-white harem pants (frequently washed to maintain their color), a finely woven long-tailed burgundy vest with "gold" embroidery, worn open, and dark leather sandals that don't look like they came out of a pile of garbage.

His features are a bit hardened from the carefree way they had been when he first arrived in Kelmarane a year prior. Exposed to the world more than the city he had known for most of his life, his features speak of a realization that he needs to be more than the carefree drifter he had been and step into the part of role model for his students, his soon-to-be-born child, and even his younger companions. Kor has done a lot of growing up, and it only took 35 years to do it. However, he still has plenty of room to grow as his mischievous side and prankster nature still manifest from time to time.

BOOK 3: With the death of The Carrion King Ghartok, the reclamation of the House of the Beast, discovery of a mysteriously powerful scroll, and the defense of Kelmarane against the gnollish forces, Kor spent the better part of half a year building up The Compendium, seeing the birth of his daughter, Nimrielye "Nim" Deillion, and vying for political power against Fixx Jalil for control of their small city.

After events with the malicious Templar of the Four Winds, Zayifid, came to a head, Kor has seen a marked decrease in his jovial attitude, but his determination to create a life for his family that will keep them safe is as solid as steel. His magical prowess growing, he seeks now to figure out the purpose of the scroll he now safeguards before its presence threatens him, his loved ones, and his home.

BOOK 4: Events in Katapesh with the Scroll of Kakishon, Father Jackal, and the Captain of the Sunset Ship continue to weigh heavily on Kor's mind. Effectively a fugitive in his homeland, along with the other Heroes of Kelmarane, for their part in disposing of Father Jackal and their refusal to part with the Scroll of Kakishon, Kor has packed up the life he had attempted to create and has taken what he can on the Sunset Ship to Kakishon. Leaving Zayifid behind to wreak untold havoc in ways he can only imagine, the archmage has few nights he doesn't dream of the horrors the templar has thought up for them... so with a bit of magic, he no longer sleeps. A decidedly unhealthy coping mechanism, but one that keeps the nightmares at bay for a little while longer, while the ones stalking the waking world he deals with one at a time.

Finding great potential in one of the robes a Lengian crew member had been wearing before they slew them and captured their essence in one of the spirit traps of his own design, Kor has done his best to transmute the magical vestment into something more akin to his taste. Gone are the days of flamboyant red vests and harem pants, replaced by a more traditional mage's robe, dyed black and red and garnished with raven feathers at the pauldrons. For the first time, a hood adorns his outfit, granting him some small measure of shelter from both the elements and prying eyes. On top of everything, he has also fashioned for himself a simple staff, the top adorned with a resting raven-- his calling card. Kor's age truly has begun to show on his face-- his brow showing signs of frown lines where once the contours of his once-trademark smirk stood. With such a dire task before their group-of-convenience, it stands to see what will break first; the wards around Nex's secret demiplace, or Kor himself.
