Dr Gillaine Flammel is a driven woman. Her dream is to make it possible for mankind to leave this planet and colonise the solar system. To do that she has to create cheap spaceflight, and that's what she is doing

Her nanite created factories can be found in every country making all sorts of goods. A practical philanthropist, she has mostly placed them in poverty stricken third world countries with the expectation that their existance will create infrastructure around them, and create jobs and wealth in the area. She doesn't create 'robot only factories', instead creates job producing factories.
