Dr Midred Fortescue is a Professor at Oxford University. She is part of the Faculty for of English, and leads the course in 'Old Norse Graudate studies'.

She works on Old Norse myth, eddic poetry, and fornaldarsögur (legendary sagas) and is presently heading the Interpreting Eddic Poetry Project.
