Alexandra Stone

Name: Alexandra Stone aka Alexa or Alex

Age: 29

Position: First Mate

Physical Description: Alexa is a beautiful woman standing at 5'8" and weighing 125lbs.  She has a fairly athletic build with enough curves to attract some attention if she wants to. She wears her golden brown, wavy hair cut to her shoulders for easy maintenance when she's not on the job. However, it is not uncommon to see her in a wide array of wigs when she is.  Alexa has smooth, lightly tanned skin, full lips, and large piercing blue eyes.  She tends to dress in tight pants, tall boots, and tank tops.  If the weather is on the cooler side she'll done and short leather jacket which she owns in brown, black, and burgundy.  Alexa always wears a slim chain around her neck with a small blue tear drop shaped stone hanging from it that was given to her by her father before he passed away.

Personality: Alexa is a strong willed woman with a bit of a stubborn streak.  She knows how to make tough choices and doesn't hesitate once she's made up her mind about something.  She can be pretty sarcastic at times but not usually in a malicious way.  She loves a good laugh and a good drink and knows how to handle herself in most situations.  She is fiercely loyal to the people she cares about but she has a fairly short temper and can hold a grudge if you cross her.  Alexa has a hard time admitting when she's wrong (which she swears is not very often) because she has a sense of pride about her and her Papa raised her to always trust her gut and never apologize for who she was.

History:  Alexandra Stone grew up in the shadows of the Persephone elite.  Beneath their beautiful façade was a dangerous and impoverished underground that she called home.  Alexa was born to Martin and Elisa Stone on board the Lancaster, a ship her parents had sought passage on to start a new life on Persephone.  Unfortunately, her mother died in child birth and Alexa was left with only her father.  Martin loved his daughter dearly and she loved him as well, they were all each other had in the world.  Martin eventually got work as a street vendor on the Eavesdown Docks and they rented a small apartment in the poor district nearby.  They were never exactly struggling, but they had very little and her father worked long hours at the docks so Alexa had a lot of time to herself.  She was not a child the enjoyed solitude however so she sought out friends.  The kids that she went to school with were dull and unexciting to her though.  Like her father, they were all so complacent with their lot in life and never seemed to dream of anything more.  So she was lonely … until she met Connor O'Sullivan.

Connor was the son of an Alliance official and part of the elite.  The two of them had met at an event her father was a vendor at.  They had hit it off right from the start and had spent the entire day together before Connor's parents had discovered that Connor was playing with the 'help'.  They told him not to speak to her but that didn't stop the two of them from becoming best friends.  They found that they didn't live too far from one another and it was easy to meet up at the park in the middle class sector.  They spent almost all of their spare time together each providing for the other an outlet that they so desperately needed.  Then one day, when Alexa was 11 years old everything changed.

Alexa was awoken one night by the sound of voices downstairs in the tiny kitchen.  Two unfamiliar men voices.  She had crept onto the landing to listen in.  The first voice was cold and dangerous, the second confident, strong, and cunning.  The second man had sounded angry, his words fast and clipped as he spoke in a shouted whisper, telling the first man that they should not be meeting here, it was dangerous, and he had a daughter upstairs.  A daughter?  Alexa had realized with shock that the second man was her father … but she had never heard him speak that way before.  She continued to listen as they made plans for tomorrow and large sums of money were discussed as payment for her father's help in the matter.  Alexa hadn't known how to even process what she had just heard so she slipped quietly back into bed.

The next morning her father didn't mention last night's meeting but he did hug her extra tight as he said goodbye and told her that after school that day she was to go next door to Mrs. McClain's house to help her with some cleaning.  Alexa lied to her father for the first time in her life as she promised to go.  But that day after school she had gone to meet Connor instead and told him all about what she had overheard.  She was convinced her father was some sort of secret agent.  Connor thought she was crazy but ended up being dragged along as she made her way to the Eavesdown Docks to see what her dad was up to. The two of them found a hiding spot behind an old Firefly and watched.  At first nothing happened and they were just about to head home when a group of dangerous looking men approached her father.  They began pointing accusing fingers at him and speaking in low threatening tones.  Alexa had gripped Connor's hand tightly as one of the men pushed her father and she was sure she had seen the glint of a pistol in his hand.  Without thinking Alexa had stepped out of her hiding place snatching up a handful of dirt and rubbing it around her eyes to give them a red and puffy look.  It had taken every bit of her courage to walk through that group of men and right up to her father and take his hand.  She had complained then about still feeling sick and that she wanted to go home and lay down again. Her father didn't even miss a beat as he informed the men with him that he was obviously not the guy that they were looking for as he had been at home all day with his sick daughter.  One of the men, the one that had pushed her father, had leaned down real close to Alexa and asked her if this was true.  She lied and told them it was and somehow the man believed her.

When they got home her and her father sat up all through the night as he explained to her that he was not a street vendor … he was a spy for some of the crime lords the operated out of the docks.  He'd deal in information, theft, sabotage, you name it.  He wanted her to one day have a better life.  Everything he had earned he had stored away so that if anything ever happened to him she'd be secure - and he had put away a small fortune by now.  Alexa had been frightened, but also excited by the news and she had known for certain that day that no matter what she was not going to spend her life as just another face in the toiling masses.

She began to learn from her father everything that he knew and she was an excellent student.  However, her father never allowed her to work any actual jobs as he refused to let her around the men that he worked with.  So she found other ways to use her skills. She took on the persona of a young socialite, Elisa Farway (her mothers maiden name) and learned how to socialize with the elite of society as Connor took her with him to various events.  She was even able to help her father some with bits of information she picked up there.  Life was good.  Connor and her were closer than ever and she and her father finally had an open and honest relationship with each other.  But Alexa's life was to change again.

When she was 19 her father was murdered and her entire world seemed to collapse in on her.  He hadn't come home that night and when she went looking for him at the docks no one had seen him.  She had combed through the maze of ships certain that he had to be somewhere … and she found him.  Lying on the ground, discarded like trash … dead.  For a long time she didn't move.  She just sat there on the ground staring at his lifeless form.  Eventually a passerby came along and began shouting for authorities.  Alexa ran.  She wasn't even sure why she just knew that she couldn't be there.  She ran and ran and before she knew it she found herself at Connor's house.  She ran up his front steps and went to knock on the door when a voice stopped her.  It was Connor's father.  He knew.  He knew who she was … and he knew who her father was … and he was responsible for having him killed.

Connor came out when he heard her shouting at his father but she couldn't talk to him now so she ran off leaving Connor to deal with finding out what his father had done.  Her and Connor didn't speak for weeks.  Alexa shut him out.  She couldn't even look at him the same way.  She began taking up her father's work, meeting with the men she was never supposed to meet and doing the jobs he could no longer do.  Connor eventually retreated into his computers.  His handiwork began popping up everywhere.  Alliance facilities being hacked all over the city.  Information being leaked that was supposed to be top secret.  No one knew who was responsible … accept Alexa.  It had Connor written all over it.  He was trying to make up for the guilt of what his father had done by retaliating against the only enemy he could fight.  But his plan backfired.  The Alliance began cracking down hard on the poorer districts and the men and women that Alexa worked with.

One day there was a raid on a small bar that many of Alexa's contacts operated out of.  The place became a warzone as Feds stormed the building.  People were being hauled away, injured, … possibly killed.  Alexa couldn't be sure.  They were business contacts, some even friends.  Alexa herself had gotten injured and just barely made it out of the building without getting caught and she knew exactly where to go.  She showed up at Connor's house in the middle of the night, bleeding, exhausted and angry.  Connor had tried to help her with her wounds but she didn't want help, she wanted him to stop.  He had to stop.  Connor had looked at her very seriously then and told that he couldn't.  He couldn't stop until she forgave him.  Alexa was in disbelief, all of this was because of her?!  She told him if that's all he wanted then fine.  She forgave him.  And he looked at her with a pained expression and said "No … you don't."  Alexa had stopped then, allowed her temper to wane and realized he was right.  She hadn't forgiven him … she couldn't forgive him.  That was the last time they saw each other.  Connor went off to Athens to continue his career as a hacker and Alexa stayed on Persephone and continued her career as a spy.  Years passed until one day they met again.  Old wounds were healed and the two bought Moirai together and took to the skies.
