A partner in the trading firm of Eason and Southwark. The firm is prosperous, mostly acquiring timber off the Baltic for sale in London shipyards, and purchasing manufactured goods in London for sale (mostly in Sweden, but in Russia and elsewhere wherever they can).

Lately, Charles Eason, Southwark's partner, has taken a flyer on spices from the East Indies. The company, and the two partners together, lately each have made several deals with the East India Company.
