Lady Victoria Darenvern

Name:  Lady Victoria Darenvern

Gender: Female

Age:  20

Height:  5’1” (158 CM)

Weight:  107 lbs (48.67 kilos)

Hair: Auburn Brown

Eyes:  Blue

Appearance:   Victoria is a pretty girl, with dark auburn hair and blue eyes, a pale complexion, and a generally serious expression, though she is not without humour.  Petite, and with a stately figure, even at her age, she wears the light muslins recommended by her mother, and is outfitted in every particular as her station requires. She carries herself well, and dances with reasonable ability.  Though truth be told she prefer to be in a quiet room reading.

Personality:  Victoria is an obliging girl. Though she can be selfish in the manner of most indulged young girls, if she is made aware of a person's needs or expectations, she will do her utmost to meet them. She is generous to charitable causes, and her brother William, has always been something of a favourite with her, and she has a deep and practical sort of faith.

When she is overwhelmed in society, Victoria retreats to the cool civilities in which she has been so rigorously trained by her mother, her governess, and her elder sister. She may at times seem haughty, but it is only her way of saving face and attempting to keep an interaction from going too wrong.

Victoria’s most enduring interest is horses--an obsession she picked up from her father, who spent much of his time in the country looking to breed some of the finest horseflesh in the country. She is a little proud of her riding skills (though she has on occasion ridden astride when she was younger, and certain nobody of any importance would see her, she found the subterfuge uncomfortable and the thought of censure was enough to make her stick to side-saddle for the past few years.)

Having watched some of her elders love and loss of unions, Victoria is more careful of her heart, and is determined to do her duty to her family and hopes to at least have a husband who  will be her partner and embrace her free spirit, who may be a pleasing sort of companion.

History:  Victoria is the youngest born to an Earl and his lady in the usual fashion. While her elder brothers and sister were jolly, outspoken creatures, their little Victoria did not quite perform in the same pattern. As a child she was shy of strangers, and could spend long periods in silence, preferring books to idle conversation. She seemed to adapt as she grew older, however, and joined into games and frolics as well as any other child. She was always a bit spoilt, being the last of the countess' babies.  Victoria attended her lessons well, and particularly enjoys reading and music, though she hates to perform before anyone she does not know very well, and will refuse to do so as long as she can without entirely giving offense. She is generally a happy girl, and comfortable enough in the little society she knew before her debut, though at times now she struggles in large assemblies.

On Victoria's eighteenth birthday, when it seemed the young ladies health was coming back, her mother took her to walk 'round the gardens in the afternoon, and, in her caring sort of way, unclosed to Victoria the details of what her youngest daughter had long suspected regarding babies and marriage. Her mother was able to shed a little more light upon the subject, however, as she knew the mechanics of the event were not what swayed the hearts and lifted the skirts of unwary girls.

Much as Victoria now understood herself, and wanted only what seduction the right match could offer, she knew her passion to be an impossible one, a true friend and confidant, not just a husband. Her mother had spoken of the importance of matrimony in blessing any such acts (with a man, at least,) and Victoria knew the holiness of that blessing would be denied to any woman without her purity.

In the days that followed, Victoria began to torment herself, fear that she wouldn’t be pleasing, would become a burden and might somehow hurt her family, if a suitable husband could not be found.

That following winter, her sister married, and focus then swiftly and naturally turned to Victoria’s debut, and her eventual marriage; the pretty daughter of an earl, with a sizable dowary, it is expected she will have little difficulty in securing a good match. Knowing what must be, for a girl of her position, but Victoria took ill her handmaiden and mother carefully nursed her back to health.  Bringing her to the families countryside home.

Now that Victoria fully regained her health and spirits to her mother's satisfaction, it was time to plan for her debut and find a suitable husband.
