Doris is a fairly plain woman she is currently in the employee of the Marke houshold as a maid.

Doris has led a quiet, respectable life under the strict rule of the Marke's cook, Mrs. Partridge, and the housekeeper, Mrs. Buckle.  Yet like anyone in these circumstances she also longs for more.  Problem is sometimes the more we find isn't what we really need.
