 Appearance: Arabella is a lovely young woman with a delicate air to her.  She is always dressed most fashionably, and with her elfin face, her large, thickly lashed eyes, and her lush cupid's bow of a mouth, she stays in the mind quite easily.

 Personality: Quickwitted, a puckish sense of humor, but shy with most men, Arabella, or Bella among her friends, can be the toast of the party, or a wallflower.  Educated more than most females might be, she tends to be a low-key lady at home.  She does love shopping, though she can go hunting for books as easily as for the dresses that were to the mode.

History: Arabella was born the fourth child and only daughter to The Honourable Rudolph Montclair, Earl of Whitefall, and Lady Estelle Montclair.  Her three elder brothers, Eamon, Neville, and Whittier, 'tolerated' her; in other words, she was spoiled for being the only daughter, but they also enjoyed teasing her mercilessly.

A precocious child, she took to books easily, but she was in no way what people called a bluestocking.  At least, not outwardly.  She grew up with tutors and governesses, just like her brothers, but her parents were not the usual distant caretakers you'd see in the ton.  They actually loved their children as themselves, which made life much easier for the bright but slightly socially awkward Bella, as she was often called.

She not ony learned to ride(a necessity among the family), but could perform the usual accomplishments of a lady.  She danced quite well, had a beautiful voice, and made excellent needlepoint and sewn things, but the latter two bored her immensely.  She was quite softspoken, could write any kind of note to any kind of person, could arrange parties, and seat people accordingly.  In other words, as she put it, she could do every useless thing ever invented.

Now that she was of age, it was time for her to find a husband.  This alone terrified her; she'd seen some of the matches made, the loveless ones(of which there were far more than love matches), and she couldn't bear to live with that.  Fortunately her parents hadn't been going in that direction, to finding one for her, but she fears it will occur ony too soon.  And she doesn't know what she'll do if that ever happens.
