Character Description and Personality

Some 5'6", Sarah is both slim and pretty.  Often smiling, she is almost overly bubbly, talkative and highly charismatic if a tad on the naive side of things! While she has a military rank, she does not often use it and wears uniform as little as possible but is still extremely dedicated to her career and, indeed, to the team she'll be placed in, marvelling at all that the Stargate represents and the possibilities it presents.

She has two younger sisters and her parents who she loves dearly and misses terribly.  Not being able to tell them why she's given up such an auspicious career is the worst part of this job but she constantly emails and BBMs them
with updates.

Character Background

A student of linguistics, Sarah was a polyglot in no time.  Her parents, Marieke and Dirk, one a German, the other South African, spoke several languages between them and, growing up, she absorbed these languages with ease.

Her father, a professional rugby player, moved to France from South Africa where  her joined Toulouse and it was here that spent her formative years.  She continued her studies in languages throughout High School and, by this point, her language studies were taking her into the obscure and forgotten - ancient Egyptian, Mayan, Ancient Greek and so forth.

University turned life on its head as her linguistic abilities earned her a prestigious (military sponsored) scholarship and, wanting to try something new, she focused her studies on Politics.   Being able to speak near all the languages of the united nations gave her a distinct advantage!

Summoned as a part of the UN to any number of negotiations, treaties and the like, she quickly, even at such a young age, made a name for herself and it was to this end that Stargate Command called on the young woman to honour her scholarship and join the programme....
