Crom is a 'nice' Goa'uld. He was exiled to the globular cluster by Ra 800 years ago because he wasn't 'nasty' enough.

He is on the world called Croma because the native Otter-folk named it after him when he began teaching them. The Otter-folk are therefore the Cromar, and the language they speak (a form of ancient Greek) is Chromata.

So far, the Cromar do not have any technology beyond making simple weapons. They live in a cave system behind a waterfall near the stargate.
