Arek is a mountain Dwarf from the Principality of Ulek who has travelled to Hommlet at the "request" of his deity, The Father of Battle, Clanggedin Silverbeard.
An old Dwarf of 280 years, he has embarked on the life of an adventurer late in life. Up till now he has led a relatively quite life tending the fish ponds of his clan and administering what aid (both medical and spiritual) was needed.
Although old, he is extremely wise and is still able to walk with a spring in his step that many younger people would envy.
Wearing chainmail and hefting a warhammer and shield, he is capable of dishing out punishment to those who besmirch the honour of his deity (or anybody else for that matter!).
