Complexion: Tanned more golden than bronze like his father
Build: Rangy and muscular with broad shoulders and a deep chest. Large sure hands and feet.

Dennis is a friendly and likeable lad who is cheerful and easygoing. Quiet and kind he is constantly smiling and has a good word for anybody. The only thing he shows real intensity about is his martial arts training (much to the dismay of his football coaches). Dennis' greatest joys are being with his family, practicing martial arts and hunting and fishing. He enjoys working on his family's farm but could take or leave school. If it wasn't for the coaches urging him to play every year he'd probably leave sports. The practices take up time he could put to better use like martial arts, working on the farm or playing in the woods.

Dennis White-Elk is a Nez Perce Indian and Norwegian on his father's side and Irish and Finnish on his mother's.

He was raised on the family ranch near Republic in Washington State. The ranch was started by his great-great grandparents. They raised cattle horses, pigs, chickens, turkey, and bees. Dennis is the third of six children his older brother Mike is a sergeant in the US Marines, his older sister Danny has had some run-ins with social services as she is an alcoholic and addict. She has two children she rarely cares for and Dennis' parents and grandparents do most of the raising. Den loves his niece and nephew Shantiqua and Juan. He has three younger siblings, Jason 14, Lib (Liberty) 11, and Belle (Isabelle) 9. He calls his two younger sisters 'Liberty Bell'.

Dennis likes hunting (both with a gun and a bow) fishing, and trapping in the winter. Activities he shares with his father and grandfathers. He likes riding the horses and doesn't mind using them to work the ranch but sometimes wishes his father would buy and use a tractor especially when it is time to bring in the hay.

The ranch is off the grid and uses a generator for the meat locker, a few electric lights and other machinery. He was raised without TV, video games, or computers (except at school) and does not feel any lack. A farm always has things to keep a young boy busy. His parents, aunt and uncle, grandparents, great grand parents and great great grand parents (nearing 100) all live on the ranch. His parents are 'Little' Joe and Shelia White-Elk, His aunt and uncle are Vi and Tom Morrison, his grand parents are Earl and Nadine (Nauddy)White-Elk, great grandparents are Lee and Nettie White-Elk and his great great grand parents are Nathan and Sarah White Elk.

Because he is so mild mannered he is sometimes teased by other kids who don't realize just how strong and fast he is and most don't know about his martial arts skills until it is too late for them. Dennis doesn't like conflict or ill-will with anyone. He dislikes bullies, mean people and people who are needlessly cruel. The kids at school call him 'Mellow-Yellow head' in good humor both because of his laid back manner and bright blond hair. His personal tastes are meat for all three meals a day, coffee for breakfast, milk as often as he can drink it, and his grandmothers chocolate fudge cake.

The tribe has visited the ranch once regarding Danny's children but were forced to admit that the children are well cared for, the ranch house was spotlessly clean and the children were attending school regularly and doing well. It didn't hurt that Joseph is a deputy sheriff and Earl used to be a tribal judge.

With his long blond hair and deep tan he has the look of a surfer although he's only been to the beach a couple of times in his life. Den usually wears Carhartt's shirts, jeans, and jackets and has some very nice elk hide jackets and boots that his grand parents made him that he wears on special occasions. Dennis speaks, English, Nez Perce, Spanish, and some Mandarin that his martial arts instructor taught him. He can read and write English and fudge his way through Spanish and read Mandarin but his writing is pretty bad.
