Background:

Within months of starting at the University of Nevada School of Medicine Annabelle knew the course was not for her. She withdrew from the course and kept it secret from her family for months. The cycle courier job was just a short gap solution until she either decided on a different graduate school or she got a much better job doing something else. That was seven years ago and while she has made a pretty good lifestyle in Las Vegas it is not what her family wanted or expected.

In the end it was easier not to call and get the same speech again or to fly for Christmas and get the feeling she was being watched by everyone. So she sort of drifted into her own world of her friends she had made and the lifestyle she enjoyed.
