The Chronicler

The Chronicler    -    Representing The DM

The Chronicler is a tall elderly human male whose age and true name is unknown to anyone but himself. Though the lined pale face, and gaunt ringed fingers protruding from a black robe of unknown fabric, denotes a very old man, the man’s movement of body and keenness of mind defy that. Beneath the cowl of deep ebony, the top of The Chronicler’s head is crowned with a thick close cropping of silver-white hair. Save for thick brows of the same, there isn't a hair to be found upon his face. His eyes are hazel with flecks of gold rimming the outer iris, and his nose is a long and narrow affair, slightly bulbous at its tip.

He sports a pair of black, knee high soft calf leather boots of which black silk pants are tucked within. There is a ring on every finger, each different in size, shape, design, and material. A dragon shaped stone on one, a pentagon of bone design on another, a simple black onyx that when looked directly upon seems to have a swirling mist within, and so forth. A blouse of same color peaks out from wherever a gap in the robe is made, causing an ornate amulet of exquisite beauty to come into view. The delicate gold chain from which it hangs was well hidden in the folds of the blouse, causing you to miss it when you looked at first upon his upper body.

It seems like the chain, rope-like in making, and impossibly thin, could not hold the weight of the charm. It is hard to tell exactly what the charm is for at first you thought it was a unicorn of the purest ivory. The robes gap closes, and after a time another gap reveals its appearance once again. You shrink back in horror. For the amulet has changed into a blood red statuette of a writhing demon. Certain other movements create openings in the robe near his ample middle, drawing the eye to an ornate black velvet belt. This belt has woven symbols and rune-like writings done in silvery thread upon it. Did said belt give the impression of movement like a slithering snake?  Perhaps it’s just ones imagination.
