Of average height and build, for a human, Jem is fairly unremarkable.  His eyes are a fairly non-descript blue/brown, his hair and beard are almost mousy.

You probably wouldn’t give him another look, if it wasn’t for the long hair and the somewhat eccentric clothing.  He looks more like an old-time aviator than a star-farer - with tightish trousers tucked into soft, high boots, paired with an open necked shirt and topped off by a leather looking blouson.  He wears a couple of square pouches on his belt and, on  occasion, a holstered pistol.


Little star, so far, so near,
I see your eye’s one shining tear.

Little star, so wild, so tame,
I waved my hand. You never came.

Little star, so quick, so slow,
you whisper like the drifting snow.

Little star, so dark, so deep
the sea you swim in as I sleep.

When morning comes in like the tide
you will have reached the other side.
