Welcome to More Than Human

Viceroy

The man stands just five feet tall, and wears a pair of thermal coveralls over a sleek, long-sleeved garment that completely covers every inch of his skin. The coveralls truncate at a pair of thick, reinforced boots, and the sleeves end in gloves with bulky metallic wrists and slender, fingered gloves. The sleek bodysuit beneath the coveralls encompasses his head, as well, and a pair of modified welding goggles obscure his eyes completely. The greenish glass glows and flickers periodically.

Viceroy was first encountered by Xander during his initial visit the Near-Earth Hub. Introduced as a subordinate to Director Kelce but a superior to Dr. Hawkins, he at first appeared to basically be the splinter cell's Q Branch.

His work with Enforcers and AI and other advanced technology helped the group ignore or avoid talking about his exceedingly awkward social mannerisms, quirks, tics, and speech patterns.

He helped Xander create a semi-stable version of the plasma drive stolen from SAGE, and accompanied the away team on their mission to ACE on Mars -- ostensibly, to retrieve a superdense alloy that would help him make further improvements to the schematics the team had procured.

The alloy was obtained, but the plasma drive tore their ship apart when it was activated during their escape from Martian space. Viceroy was next seen during the away team's attempted escape from the Controller's AoS-aligned base on EROS. Viceroy remained comatose the entire time, and seemed impervious to medical science.

When Commander Faust arrived to pacify EROS space on behalf of the splinter cell, Viceroy was transported back to the Near-Earth Hub (and specifically his Factory) to recuperate.

It was then discovered that he was an alien of some kind, unable to heal himself as humans can.

Much later, the splinter cell determined that Viceroy was an alien known as an "Amgine", and that his name might in fact be a title instead. He claims to have been stationed to keep the Sol Sector under survellience and to prevent another alien race, the Roshak, from conquering it and enslaving its people.

During Faust's betrayal of the splinter cell, Viceroy lifted off his Factory ship and used two pieces of advanced technology to help the away team. First, he created a temporary jump ring for Rebecca to fly through, in order to get her to his home planet of Amg to request aid and describe the situation. Secondly, he engaged Faust's fleet to distract it from Billy and Xander and Muse's assault on his flagship.
