Natalie 'Bookie' Thornman

Player's Legality Statement:  I, Shirelin, am 25 years old, born on July 9th, 1989. It is legal for me to view adult content in my current place of residence.

Character's Name:  Natalie "Bookie" Thornman

Character's Age:  21

Animal Species:  Domestic housecat, calico specifically.

Animal Adaptations:  Superb balance, sharpened claws, night vision, heightened senses

Psionics/Magic: Feline Sensing

Appearance:  Natalie is covered in a short layer of fur with her belly, hands, and feet being white and the rest of her body being a combination of black and orange blotches of color. Her eyes, covered in black fur with a patch of orange inbetween them, are a bronze amber in color and despite conditions being what they are, seem to be far too innocent for her own good. Her tail almost seems more like it belonged on a tortiseshell cat then a calico, with a distinct kink at the end, though if its a natural break that healed wrong or she was born like that, its hard to say. A light t-shirt under a pocketed army vest and ragged and dirty cargo pants are her primary clothes, with a backpack that has definitly seen better days usually attached to her back. Tucked in her belt is a small knife, and hidden under her vest, tucked against the small of her back is a pistol.

Personality:  Natalie is a perky and outgoing individual, using her charm more then brute force to get what she wants. Any weaponry she has is more an intimidation tactic then anything, though she does know the basics of using them. She acts like anyone else trying to survive -charming and sweet when things go her way, but ruthless when the need arises.

The exception to this is when she learns of a book she doesn't have yet in her collection - then she turns into a greedy, will do anything short of murder to get it individual, like an addict looking for their next fix. She will even resort to stealing if it will get her the book any sooner. Her body is fair game. Her skills as a thief are fair game. Even her immense knowledge is up for grabs. She will do anything for that next acquisition.

Background: Natalie's background was fairly standard for one of the setting... and if it wasn't for the events that happened when she was 17, she would have continued to have stayed in the background of history. She had a father, a mother, and a younger sister she absolutely adored. She two did just about everything together, until Francesca, the sister, started to drift as she reached puberty.

No longer did the once close friends read together and take in the large amount of knowledge that their father's collection provided. Natalie's eidetic memory made it near impossible for the two to find common ground as they grew older, and as hormones began to rage in the two, Natalie grew an 'I-know-it-all' attitude that rubbed Francesca the wrong way and the girl turned to things opposite the other in order to not be like Natalie.

Francesca began to smoke, began hanging with the wrong crowd... all the things that her parents and a 'goody two shoes' like Natalie hated and grew concenered over. Things grew more and more heated, and verbal and physical fights grew commonplace between the two sisters. When they weren't fighting, Natalie hid in her father's vast library and Francesca disappeared for days on end to who knew where.

At 17, though, Natalie's world flipped itself on its head. The smell of smoke awoke her and her family, and panic nearly blinded Natalie. A fire, fed by all the paper in the place, was fierce, and the family was lucky to make it out - though her father wasn't as in one piece as everyone would have liked. The fire had blinded him, with burns curling across his skin as he clutched at the book he had managed to save. It was a book of their geneology, a task her father had long worked hard on and had almost given his life to save.

This event further divided the family and the loss of such a central part of her life snapped something deep inside Natalie. The trauma born of the fire started Natalie on her first 'chase', looting all nearby stores of their books, with cash once they were back on their feet, and by stealth of night when cash was short when they still tried to get themselves shelter. When her mother walked in on her having sex for a stranger, it shocked her, but not as much as the reason behind it. It wasn't for a need to have it, but rather because the man had promised her a book that wasn't in their growing collection... Natalie then found herself isolated to her room for two years after that, and it only made the obsession worse.

It was during this time that Francesca vanished, and with her, so did the book their father had risked himself to save. When she was released from her room, an itch formed deep down to find the book. She needed to. More then just because of her compulsion, though that certainly didn't help. Their father wasn't whole because of it, and it was so important to him, she needed to get it back for him. And so she got herself work. Any work. She saved and saved, keeping her ear to the ground to hear anything about her sister and the book... and she bought herself a bike to help her travel. At 19, she made a promise to come back regularly to her parents, with news of their youngest, and she hasn't failed that promise yet... even if her side car has more often then not been filled with more books over time, leading to a cat's version of a dragon's hoard being made for her, of which her mother and father watch over.

Of course, over her time of being on the road, she has gotten in trouble with the law more then once for her theiving, and through those encounters, her skills have only grown. And still the road stretches on, with her taking any work she can get for money and information.

Bike:  You get what you pay for, and in Natalie's case, this means a beat up and needing work motorbike with a side car attached, which is where she keeps her newest acquisitions on the ride home. It fits her build somewhat, if a little big.
