Female smiths are not unheard of in the duchies, but they are far more rare than male.  Xarini is very good, especially with the intricate things.  Metal seems to almost flow into the correct shape in her hand.  The woman looks small in a cavern full of muscle-bound men, but she is actually taller than average and very athletic.  Though hidden behind a smith's apron and beneath a layer of soot, Xarini is probably quite beautiful.  A small scar mars her left cheek-bone just beneath her ear.  She is kind and has a sure alto voice capable of being heard above the noises of the forge if need be.
