Axander

APPEARANCE

Axander appears to be in his early 20s, his dark brown hair kept rather short and looking reasonably professional. Matching brown eyes sit behind a pair of wireframe spectacles. His skin lacks the tan associated with outdoor types, and it can generally be assumed that just isn't him. His overall build can be considered more or less "average", not exactly thin but slim. He stands at around 5'9" or 5'10", and if one were to weigh him, he'd probably fall around the 150 lb mark.

Axander generally wears black slacks, black walking shoes and a plain white button-down shirt when he isn't at work or at school, and has a black blazer he wears over that.

BACKGROUND
Axander was born and raised in the Citadel on Gallifrey, a student at the Academy and one of the potential new Time Lords of his generation. From the time he was eight years old, he followed in his parents' footsteps, studying sociology and history, specializing in how sentients interact rather than the more physical sciences. During his time, Axander made close friendships that lasted for decades. Life was good, and he had only a few short years left before his graduation to a full Time Lord. That came to an end when the Daleks came.

They'd come to wipe out Gallifrey, the Time Lords, and any hope of stopping their genetic cleansing of the universe. All Time Lords and Time Capsules were summoned back to Gallifrey to fight in the war, Type 100 warships and Type 70 exploration vessels used side by side against their enemies. Time Lords were dying and killing, eons of peace broken for the second time in recent history. And what happened after the war against the Enemy? Axander's mother knew.

Miran Elona ix Anterrris was an archeologist, her skills set on understanding the past and how it shaped the future. More than that, she was a Time Lady. She was no soldier, and the casualties were mounting. Miran did the unthinkable. During the height of the fighting, she snuck Axander aboard her Time Capsule, a vessel that had been bonded with her for four hundred years, and fled Gallifrey. It took some work to defy the will of the Council, but Miran and Axander were clever.

Shocked as he was, the boy didn't have time to consider the consequences of the treason they were committing. He didn't consider how difficult it was to hide their trail through the Vortex, especially as neither of them had the training to perform such stealthy tasks. They arrived on Earth, a planet with so many temporal nexus points they thought no one would ever find them. How wrong they were.

Two years of life in London's East End, 1963, and the pair thought they had eluded the Time War entirely. They'd gone under the names Xander F. Santerri and Marian Santerri, sending "Xander" to a small college while "Marian" took up work as a high school teacher. It was to their great surprise (greater for Miran, as she hadn't expected the Time Lords to cover up such an important event), two factions of Daleks from long before the Time War were having a civil war through the streets, and they could detect the Time Lords. Caught in the crossfire between the Imperial and Renegade Dalek forces, Miran and Axander tried to escape to the Time Capsule. It was a clean escape, until they ran into the Hound.

The Hound was another Time Lord, a special agent who answered directly to the mad Lord President Rassilon himself. His duty was simple; find renegade Time Lords and bring them to justice. The proper punishment for treason was execution. His weapon was a staser pistol. Escape was almost impossible, but the Daleks' intervention gave the pair a chance to slip away from their hunter. Axander managed to escape unscathed, as his mother threw herself into the line of fire. Miran survived long enough to reach the Time Capsule, and it dematerialized to another time of its own accord, sensing the occupants' fear and panic.

They appeared in Scotland, in the ultra-modern city of Summerton. The Time Capsule disguised itself as an old mansion, even going so far as to reconfigure its insides to match. The Control Room became a basement, and went dark as Miran's life drained from her. There would be no regeneration from a staser pistol.

Axander was devastated. He was light years from anyone he really knew, with a war through time itself going on at every moment in history at once, with his friends and loved ones probably dying. And he was hiding from it all, now trapped. Nothing was right at all. It took days before he was willing to step outside, and he introduced himself to the local community under the same name he'd used in London. It turned out that was over forty years earlier. Still, no records existed of the people they had been, so the vague explanations were all easily accepted, including the story of his mother's death. She'd been sick, and had left him the house.

So Xander lived in Summerton, attending the city's magnificent university and keeping mostly to himself. He did his best to socialize without giving away his alien nature. It was too dangerous to reveal himself as a Time Lord. No, in truth he wasn't even that. He was a Junior Time Lord, and that was bad enough. He wouldn't have the respect a full Time Lord had earned, and he didn't feel he deserved any for allowing all this to happen. So he buried his heritage and hid away, knowing full well he could revive his mother's Time Capsule at the cost of one of his regenerations, but unable to convince himself of there being any value in leaving. He was one of them now. That was until the Hound found him again. Staying in Summerton would only endanger his new community. It was time to go.

PERSONAL GOAL

Axander's primary goal is to escape from the Hound so he won't have to live life looking over his shoulder. His secondary goal is to graduate to full Time Lord. His third goal is to see the universe and all its wonders, especially the amazing mythology and literature created by the cultures across time and space.
