Noin son of Balin is devoted to his older brother Dwain and would quite literally do anything for him. Like his brother he misses his father and though he news of the discovery of his tomb brought the relief of knowing what happened, like his brother it did not bring full closure.

Since hearing of their father's death he has had dreams, vivid dreams, or perhaps even visions of the tunnels and halls of a great city, one he knows in his heart to be Moria. In these dreams he has seen dwarves he knows to be dead, his father included, but also those he knows to still live, brother and friends included, though never the two groups together. Always in these dreams they are facing great trials, battles, injuries and death.

Once a cheerful fellow, for a dwarf, since the news of his father and the coming of the dreams Noin has turned brooding in nature, though those closer to him recognised this as contemplative.
