Kour son of Khain

Kour son of Khain is usually heard before he is seen. His bright baratone fills the hills and the ancient caves and deep canyons as he hums and belts country tunes he learned from the old one. He knows many styles of Dwarves song as well as the songs of the Dorwinrim and not just a few in bastardized syllables of languages completely unknown to him. Old Khain did not sing well but was well travelled and knew his stories. Kour gained more from the men he grew up around. Kour now seeks his own story his youth prematurely interrupted.

Kour is very young for a Dwarf on his own.

He is tall, though approaching halfway from four to five feet and wiry and strong with thick ropes of muscle and sinew. He doesn’t see himself as tall for Khain is the only dwarf he’s ever known.  He wears splint armor from a generation lost. This isn’t heirloom armor that’s been well maintained for centuries. It’s an almalgam starting with a chain mail sleeved shirt linked into a sleeveless jacket of vertical splints of long steel octagonal plates. The entire ensamble is smoked and painted black but many of the breastplates are then painted and etched with runes and pictographs in natural paints of ochre and indigo and yellow chalk.

The armor is a chain kilt below his waste and through the links his wool pants either yellow or blue depending on the day with goatskin patches on the knees and seat. His pants are bloused and loose in the Dorwinish style as is his shirt when he removes the armor. He wears hard boots with splints reinforcement up to his knee. Under his chain sleeves his rust colored loose wool shirt is visable sometimes it’s a dark green shirt. His hands can sport leather gloves with chain on the dorsum that can be removed and either hang freely to be buttoned up to the dorsal side of his bracers - the bracers themselves are a brushed nickel blended steel with swirling Celtic knot style grooves printed in them. The only piece clearly dwarvish in character and bright. They hint at a different kind of armor altogether something more smooth and interlocking than mail of men, if they are old pieces or fashioned from a memory is a lost story from a time before old Khain constructed this armor.

Over it all he has a dark yellow with red blue and grey plaid vest with pockets and a heavy hooded long-coat that is reversible tan on the inside and olive green on the outside. It is quilted and held by a quartz and wood easterling style buttons.

He wears a steel cap and his red-brown beard is carved in braids and interlocking branches with metal rings and the weaving on one side of a turquoise and lapiz set of beads and steel chain that would make a beautiful necklace on its own.

He carries a backpack that he lifts and moves with ease, a Heavy Spear of the variety used to hunt boar is etched in fingerprint like swirling grooves and runes with metal studs on the haft. When he is not using it as a walking stick he caries it on a strap over a shoulder. A brace of thinner javelins on the other shoulder and several daggers on his legs and pack straps.

Beautiful multicolored braided silk rope is on his backpack and his vest pocked flashes a lovely bright silk handkerchief.
