Kui Heng

Kui Leng got the name "Little Bear" from his grandmother when he was a child. He would often wander around lost in thought, or just observing other children. His grandmother though a strong name like "Little Bear" would help him become more manly.

Perhaps grandma was right, or perhaps Kui was just waiting for the right moment to strike, but his later childhood was pock-marked by fights and altercations with other kids and he soon fell in with some rather rowdy crowds, eventually landing in with the Hip Sing Tong Triad.

Running with the Triad helped Little Bear develop his sense of ego, his love for conflict and his talent for investigation. When the gang had trouble with a certain person, especially one they had trouble finding, or finding a way to get to, Kui was their man.

Nowadays, Kui's affluence within the Triad had left him with a taste for stylish trappings, and though he isn't particular wealthy (e.g: Not at all wealthy), he takes very good care of the clothes he managed to purchase when he moved to the Flying Dragon Triad in New York.

Kui's appearance, past that, is roughly average for a youngish Chinese man, making his job a bit easier as he can usually blend into a China Town scene fairly easily.

Little Bear's been in the states at least a handful of decades so far, so he doesn't have much of an accent anymore when he speaks English. As far as his Chinese, he spent most of his formative years speaking poorly in mostly local slang, so he's functionally unintelligible to state-side Chinese speakers, anyway.
