Luccia Cole

Step 1: Character name/Clan/Covenant

Step 1: Character name/Clan/Covenant

Name: Luccia Cole
Clan: Mekhet
Covenant: Invictus (Formerly: Ordo Dracul?)

Step 2: Who you were.
Luccia Cole was a young woman in college during the 1980's. Before her Embrace she was full of life and self-determination to become one of the best selling horror authors of the United States at the time, at least on par with Stephen King or Dean Koontz at the time. In reality however she was a quiet and shy individual who spent a lot of time fueling her active imagination with music and reading, constantly dreaming of the day that she could get her novel published and make something of herself. Her widowed father did the best he could to support her in her choice, though more often than not he would try to urge her into a more practical career such as a doctor or business associate. Despite this, she and her father were close and it other foreshadowed just how much she would lose when she caught the eye of a mysterious predator.

Step 3: Why they took you.
Her mortal life came to a sudden and horrific end one night as she was driving back home from the University. Cops who arrived on the scene described it as one of the most severe hit and run automobile accidents they had ever seen and the emergency crew that arrived had pronounced her dead on impact. The truth of the matter however, was that an auto collision had been set up by her sire, and while she had survived the crash, the body they did recover wasn't her, but instead a replacement with enough recoverable evidence to make it look as though it was her.

Her Sire, Maxwell Edinborogh, who had been one of the leading Mekhet of the Ordo Dracul at the time, had taken an interest in her work and begun to investigate her life and learn as much as he could. It hadn't taken long for him to assume he had chosen his Childe correctly, for she proved to be an apt student, her open mind more than easily accepting her new existence after a short month. After that, he found that she had adapted a little to readily and was growing in power and understanding at a pace he was more than comfortable with. So, he began to slow his lessons down and regulated her to simple task that would benefit a gloried secretary.

Step 4:  How you survived. (Mask: Questioner)
Unfortunately the Embrace had changed Luccia in a fundamental way, what had once been a shy, reserved young woman filled with imagination, was instead a monster thirty for knowledge, and the power that came with the absolute Truth of it. She had already gain a startling control over the Coils and was already learning and adapting them into new and potentially better ways. Fearing this would eventually lead into disaster, Maxwell began to try and bind her to his will in a slow and methodical progress, an attempt that he though would've turned what could've been an interesting ally into a powerful weapon at his command.

It came to a disastrous climax one fateful night and at that moment Sire and Childe were torn apart in a struggle that left Luccia in a wild Frenzy that ended with her consuming her Sire's knowledge and power. Before much could be done, Luccia was captured and brought into the Ordo Dracul's Kogaion, Nyadhial Goodman, and kept under intense scrutiny until they deemed she was not a threat to the rest of her covenant. It was at that point she found a Mentor, someone who didn't fear her thirst for knowledge and instead nurtured it, encouraged her, and feed her with all sorts of new information and secrets. For the next few years, her Danse Macbe had become something of a paradise for her. That was when her Requiem took an unexpected turn. Shortly after her acceptance into the Mystery of the Ascendant, Luccia was summoned by her Kogaion, her Mentor, and sent away from Detroit with special instructions. She took this task with pride, only further encouraged by her Kogaion to uncover even more Knowledge and power about the Kindred Existance to truly transcend her boundaries and become something more, and the only way to do that was with a fresh start and new experiences.

It had been rough, leaving her adopted home among the Ordo Dracul, but the liberating factor of exploration and investigation opened her eyes further than they could've would she have remained. It was then that the young Kindred drifted from city to city, learning what she could and moving on. Repeating the process and growing wiser along the way. Her mission came to a rather abrupt close however when she received missive from her Mentor that her task had changed and that she had been given over to the Invictus, where she would serve them just as loyaly to them as she had served the Dragon. Confused and uncertain for the change, Luccia came home to Detroit and found her City changed, the Invictus had fallen out of power and the Carthian Movement had stepped in full time as a result. After a brief meeting with her Kogaion, Luccia went to meet with her new Invictus brothers and sister and assume her position at the bottom of the first Estate. She was to be given something simple and relatively easy. She was to uncover information that would give them advantage over their rivals and secure their power with her assistance. While, secretly, she would work for her Mentor and Kogaion to gain access to their resources and information.

Step 5:  Who you are now. (Dirge: Scholar)

Luccia has become just a small cog in an even greater machine. She serves the Invictus with no less loyalty than she did the Ordo Dracul, her talents at uncovering information and learning the things not meant to be known could've been a weapon against the First Estate, and instead they have claimed her from the Ordo during her journey first and sent her back to Detroit to restore what should rightfully be so. She will do so, as long as it serves her ultimate goal, to attain knowledge. She is no fool, if the Invictus decide she is of no use any more or uncover her true motivations, then she will either have to flee or face Final Death, but she has no plans to let them throw her away once they are satisfied with her. No one will abuse her like her Sire did before her. She will serve as their Investigator, she will climb the ladder as far as it will go and learn their secrets, and then she will move on once they are back in power.

After being gone for nearly a decade to find the entire climate of the city changed, she has no contact with any allies, but instead has small haven granted to her by the Invictus and small amount of status with them to facilitate her own needs, within reason of course. What they don't know however, is that her connections with the Ordo Dracul are just as strong as ever, with her Mentor serving as her secret liaison with the Ordo Dracul in Detroit, further cementing her into the various power structures of the shaky city.

Step 6:  What you will become.
Everything is a means to an end with Luccia. Every task or mission will become an opportunity to study the other Kindred of the world and learn their darkest secrets and forbidden truths. She will master their powers and her own and become something more than Kindred.

Aspirations:
Assist the Invictus in reasserting it's Dominance over Detroit
Uncover as much information of the Kindred Condition
Learn and Grow in personal Power

Step 7:  Personal descriptions.

Luccia has always been a tall woman, though in the past she would've been described as gentle and shy, with her Embrace she now stands tall and authoritative. She is a woman who looks like she knows exactly where she belongs and what she is doing. Her long silken hair is a soft faded blonde and seemed to flow down her head and shoulders with great care and grace and only seems to frame accentuate her piercing blue eyes. Her dress is clothing that consist of heavy yet functional styles, meant to keep her as protected from the natural elements of the world as they are to help her carry and hide things among her person. Her clothing comes in various shades of muted earthy colors that seem to blend in and mask her presence among the others making her a sharp eye predator that watches and waits and she learns more.

Luccia is a quiet woman, though she won't let anyone or anything assume that she is meek or fragile. Instead she carries with her an air of superiority and intellectual power. She isn't afraid to meet someone's eyes and talk to them as an equal, but nor is she foolish enough to throw away the right etiquettes that would be required of her station.

While she does tend to be serious and single minded in a lot of ways, that doesn't mean she is incapable of forming bonds and relationships. She can share jokes and joviality with relative ease, even if she lacks the right tone of inflection in her words. Those that earn he trust find themselves a staunch ally and just as easily those that seek to manipulate or do her wrong can find themselves with a fierce enemy.
