Short and powerfully muscled, Mary moves with a dancer's grace.  Her body and features are a little square to be considered truly beautiful by conventional standards, but there is no denying the athleticism in her limbs when she puts them to motion.  Originally of half Vietnamese and half German decent, her features lean far more heavily onto the Caucasian side of things than they do the Asiatic.  Her most distinctive feature is the red dye of her hair, hair which matches the flowing pieces of silk that she binds to the hilt of the many daggers and short swords she keeps on her person when hunting.  When at official functions she tends to dress in nondescript blacks, simple clothes that don't impair her movement with little nod to fashion.  When joining her Acolytes in blood hunts or Crúac, she wears loose and flowing clothes that allow the long tassels of red silk to flow free in the wind.

She possesses a sharp mind and a quick wit, often bantering with Kim King when the Acolyte Huntress is in one of her more playful moods.  The de facto leader of the Coterie known as "the Sisters," she leads her fellow Acolytes on the Circle's monthly Blood Hunts with a relish bordering on the sadistic.  Her nickname stems from an incident some twenty years ago when she got into an altercation with an Enforcer of the Carthian Movement who she caught poaching in her turf.  She cut her opponent to bloody ribbons, leaving silk tasseled knives imbedded in his flesh as she danced circles around him, laughing maniacally the whole time.
