Ghost

Shadowname:  Ghost
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: Unknown
Role: Matrix Entity

Looks: All of those who have interacted with Ghost have done so via the Matrix.  His persona, a 35-37 year-old black man, just under 6’ (1.82m) and about 200 pounds (90.7kg), is usually dressed either in priestly robes or an Armani business suit.  Regardless of which he’s dressed in, Ghost sports dread locks that fall just below his shoulders, mirrored sunglasses (his eyes, for those select few who have seen them, are pure white), and numerous Voodoo rings, necklaces, and talismans, each of which is different every time he manifests visually.  His voice is generally deep with Cajun inflections and mannerisms.

Personality: Ghost is confident, almost cocksure, but only in terms of his own abilities on the Matrix.  Unlike many of his peers, however, he can ‘walk the walk’ as well as ‘talk the talk.’  He is somewhat socially awkward, preferring to stick solidly to business talk and stay away from anything personal, always politely redirecting any conversation not strictly business.

Skills/Powers: If it’s electronic and attached to the Matrix, he can find it, alter it, steal it, and/or simply note its existence.  If it’s electronic and not attached, he can get into it as long as he’s close enough, although he rarely takes on jobs like that, at least until recently.  His preternatural ability to ‘see’ the coding, defenses, and structure of anything in the virtual world have given him a massive edge in bypassing any electronic security, concealment, or firewall that has so far been put in his path.

Background:  Heard of by reputation only, Ghost has become something of a phantom in the hacking world over the last decade or so.  Incredibly capable and subtle in the extreme, he is not like many of his peers.  Fully capable of slipping into a Hong Kong bank and stealing funds or hacking into a hardware developer and stealing the plans for an upgraded weapon system, he rarely, if ever, does so for ‘fun.’  It simply brings way too much heat down on the head of such a hacker.  That, combined with his steady work for the highly influential Mr. Greene, has allowed him to become, almost literally, the “Ghost in the Machine,” hardly leaving a trace.  Often times his targets don’t even realize until much later that their firewalls had been breached…usually when their ‘prototype’ shows up in a competitor's inventory.

Valuing his privacy above nearly all else, Ghost has never met with a client in person, preferring to conduct all business through the Matrix persona.

With dreadlocks.

Minus skull.
