Costume
Dark red morphic fabric costume with yellow and black accents.  The costume covers him from head to toe with no exposed skin and includes yellow goggles.  When manifesting his powers he is surrounded with a dark purple aura that he can spin up so he looks more like a purple vortex with flashes of red, yellow, and black.



Background
Not long before the beginning of WWII a german scientist named Jurgen Zieschang fled to the United States.  During the war he worked for the government and after founded Zieschang Labs (which later became Z-Labs).  The Zieschang family grew in wealth from the labs patents, real-estate, and other investments.  What few knew was the secret life Jurgen led as a mystery man named the Crimson Knight.

Nathaniel was the only child of Sebastian and Kathryn Zieschang.  Nate was premature, sickly, and dying.  His grandfather offered a solution in an old energizing and healing device his father had cobbled together during his secret life.  Nate was put in the device and bathed in its strange energies but it overloaded and the device exploded.  Fortunately the babe was unharmed but his eyes had changed from blue to violet.

Nate grew up healthy, active, did well in school, and while talented seemed normal.  He was saved from being a completely spoiled rich kid by stories of his great grandfather and his families dedication to philanthropy.  He coasted through a business degree at Harvard and returned home to New York to work for one of the businesses associated with the family.

His parents picked him up at the airport and were driving him home when a semi-truck lost control, went off an overpass, and crashed into their car.  The force of the trucks impact woke something long dormant in Nate and purple energy burst forth from him briefly and kept him from being seriously hurt.  His parents were not so lucky, both were killed instantly.

Over the past few months Nate has been healing mentally and physically and learning new use his newfound powers.
