Meri

At first appearing like a human, this pale-skinned Half-Elfin figure keeps her pointed ears concealed beneath a flowing mop of black hair.
Her eyes often glow with a faint hint of a blue luminescence, betraying the presence of some kind of magical energies constantly in effect around her.
She would probably look attractive if she smiled, but unfortunately she rarely ever does.

She wears leather armour, dyed black with strange runes woven into seemingly random parts of it with a silver thread.  White cloth bracers are worn around her wrists.
Held in her hands is a long staff made of a polished blue-grey metal with a large clear crystal shard at each end.  The staff is engraved with more mystical symbols and decorated with a curious pattern of multiple pieces of coloured metallic banding and small crystals embedded into it, some of the crystals glow in various colours and seem to give off magical effects when activated in certain sequences by the staff's wielder.  Though only Meri herself appears to know what each of them is for.
A bandolier crosses over her chest, holding an array of glass vials, some of them filled with a faintly-glowing green liquid.

Often seen with her is an odd metallic creature, resembling an intricately-crafted miniature articulated sculpture of a humanoid Warforged or some similar device made entirely of what appears to be scrap metal.
Its limbs move with a series of whirs and ticking sounds and its eyes shine with a blue light.  It seems to be alive, or at least sentient.  It usually hitches a ride in Meri's backpack or on her shoulder and often helps her with her work.  Occasionally hindering more than it helps!

Little if anything is known of her past, as she seems reluctant to talk about it, to the point of becoming angry if pressed on the subject.
