Ludovic was brought in attempting to kill one of the brothers. No one really said which one but when he made the attempt his disguise was perfect and he managed to land a telling blow. Never mind the fact that the vampires are far harder to kill that he had assumed originally. Instead of murdering the assassin they recruited him.

Ludovic normally walks around as a tall and fit nobleman. He has a whole apothecary on his back when he goes out from the lab and is unmistakable when he fights due to the detonations that follow.

The reason the brothers recruited him is due to his adaptability. In most cases, if he can see it he can become it. In the event he can not, it is only a matter of time until he gives himself the ability. If that fails him he is likely to make a copy of the thing he cannot mimic himself. This is done through a mix of alchemy and magic as any mage can see the stack of transmutation spells he keeps active.

When not walking around as his default self there is no telling what he will be seen as. People have seen him running around as nearly every common race, children, women, strange and exotic races. He identifies as male but in the end, it is purely the identity of his mental self.

The one trick he takes the most pride in is the fact that his shadow is part of him. Not just that he casts a shadow but the shadow does things outside of what he does. Sometimes he will be just standing there and the shadow dances. Other times his shadow looks like the person he is talking to.
