   Dominiq Shabazz, also known as the singer "Lady D", is a former singer in several musical genres but began her career as a gospel singer. After releasing her first album, "In the key of Lady D", she was quickly recognized as a rising musical star. She recorded another 2 albums (1 gospel, the other a soft jazz compilation) before she broke with her record label and sought to change the good girl image to something different.

   Her style changed and became edgier in her next album, her 4th and first with her new label - Lyonesse Entertainment. "Another D album", saw her venture into a more aggressive sound. The album was a collection of pop hits, but a couple of songs took swipes at her previous albums and the people that marketed it. Her last album, entitled "Any D thing you want" marked a foray into hip-hop fusion, as well as songs that were considered 'explicit' and 'offensive' in certain markets.

   After the marketing campaign for her last album finished some 8 years ago, Lady D walked away from the music & entertainment scene and has only been seen intermittently since. Most of the fanfare has died away, and the press has long since moved on to other, more recent acts ...
