Mika no Krynn

Mythalia Lyuorn (aka. Mika no Krynn) was the product of a triste between the Asgardian God of Deception, Loki, and a High Elf Mystic (Fleya Lyuorn). When Mythalia was only 4 a team of Sunaj assassins raided Alfheim (planet) and murdered Fleya and a number of other High Elves, for reasons unknown. Loki intervened as quickly as he could, his infamous rage getting the better of him, and dealt with the Atlanteans before they could claim the life of his daughter who was hidden a small tree alcove. In an apparent rare display of compassion, at least at the time, he took his daughter to Asgard proper to be raised there.

For the next several years Mythalia was raised as anyone in Asgard, and taught the basics of warfare and combat, and furthermore, due to her lineage she possessed a deep, natural affinity for magic. Spell casting came as natural to her as fighting, and she was instructed by the knowledgeable mages of the Norse dimension. Upon nearing puberty though she began to exhibit the distinctive traits of psionic ability. Seeing this opportunity for what it was, and wishing to remove Mythalia from the 'corrupting' influences of the other gods of Asgard, he found a most interesting boarding school for her to attend.

On the now chaotic planet Earth Loki had learned of a group of psionics who had honed their abilities to be able to track down prey. Furthermore, these hunters were reliant on magic energies to survive; it was their food and water. Not only did you have a psionic stalker, now you had one that had to hunt to survive. Thus Loki sent Mythalia to a small guild of Psi-slayers, who were dubious of training an elf girl, but agreed due to the generous payment.

Life with the psi-slayers was tough, even for one accustomed to the irregularities and rough life of Asgard. These men were killers, pure and simple, and they moulded Mythalia's mind and body into one as well. Likely she would have been bullied, or worse given her unnatural beauty, by her fellow apprentices and perhaps even the teachers. But that was cut short after one senior male apprentice attempted to force himself upon her when she was 15, in fear and anger she lashed out with her full supernatural strength shattering the boys pelvis, crushing a number of ribs and cracking his jaw in front of two terrified onlookers. That was the first kill she experienced, the first true taste of draining magical energies from a dying man. While she was never reprimanded, it was a valuable lesson to others after all, the other apprentices avoided her largely out of fear.

After several years of training, with Loki clandestinely checking in from time to time, Mythalia Lyuorn became Mika no Krynn; psi-assassin. Now Loki had yet another perfect pawn for his games, and he wasted no time in exploiting it. Mika was sent across the Megaverse to track down and erase various targets of 'interest' to Loki; he gave her a reason for each one, but she had learned not to believe such things. Away from the confines of the psi-slayer guild Mika was exposed to a much more 'normal' world of perspectives, and this slowly chipped away at her conscience.

As a Psi-Slayer she was compelled to hunt and kill, but so many of her victims seemed unworthy of such an end. Her upbringing in Asgard had imprinted upon her the glory of battle and death in combat, of importance honour and integrity; such childhood ideals may be suppressed but they are difficult to dispel. It took some time and a lot of internal turmoil but eventually Mika decided she'd had enough of being an attack dog, and the target was the president of some large corporation on a planet in the Anvil Galaxy. On the megaversal scale he was no more significant than anyone else, but that was just it, the man had done nothing... and she had done her own thorough research to that effect. Thus instead of killing him she tipped him off and reported as much to Loki.

Loki's response was less than understanding; Mika had never seen him so angry (though she really had not seen much of him at all). In his rage he beat her within an inch of her life, magically and physically, but his nature stayed his hand. Another dead elf is worth nothing, insolent or not, so with her life slipping away Loki stabilized her and thought to teach her a lesson. When Mika awoke she was not in Valhalla as she expected, she wasn't marooned on some desolate world or even locked in a dank dungeon, no she was the last place anyone wanted to be, more so than death itself; she was the prisoner of a Splugorth Slaver patrol on some world. The Slavers had been tipped off as to her abilities as they had affixed parasitic symbiotes to her that robbed her of magical and psionic powers. She could scarcely believe that her father would give to the Splugorth, and despair began to settle in. It wasn't too long before a random group of adventurers stumbled into the Slavers and in the ensuing battle managed to free Mika and a number of other slaves. The rest is history.
