Garviaual Ruatril grew up in a small elven village, where he was quickly noted for his curiosity and his gift for understanding the natural world (even for a wood elf).  He took to archery eagerly and spent much of his free time practicing.

When he came of age, Garviaual was chosen to serve as an emissary to other elven villages and, eventually, to the burgeoning civilizations of man.  He continued to wander and learn, nominally on behalf of his village, though more often than not simply to sate his own curiosity.

He finds himself in Portsmouth, naive to the ways of man and perhaps too forthright in his dealings to navigate the city.  He is eager to find companions and adventure.
