Unofficially, he was a long-time parish watchman and Sector Security informant in the years before he was hired, serving his community in the Satellite as an unofficial lawman and providing Sector Security with valuable information as early as 25 years old. Thanks to his contributions, a great deal of lawlessness in a core sector of the Satellite was all but eliminated, and Sector Security ensured that his community was well-protected and taken care of. Rations were better than average, work-hours were reasonable, and the officers that patrolled seemed to genuinely care for the well-being of Yato's neighbours. This, it seems, cemented his respect for Sector Security, and laid the groundwork for him becoming an Investigator Seargant.
