Welcome to Wounded World: Darkened Haven (OWoD)

Anika Goldsmith

Anika is a young woman, still in her mid-teens (16 years old, to be fact).
She seems a relaxed and happy young lady; she is friendly, generally, and easy to get along with.

She dresses in loose, comfortable clothing, but is (like all teens) influenced by fashion and trend.

Currently, she is 'hanging out' with her older, wise, cooler, awesome cousin: Octavia Snow.
Which Anika is absolutely stoked about.

Good evening, both.
Firstly, thank you both for the warm welcome to the game.   Between those, and the character I am brewing, I am very much looking forward to playing here.
So I am choosing to play Anika Goldsmith.

Anika is/was the kinfolk daughter of two Fianna kin who work and live at the Concrete Fields Forever city farm.

Concrete Fields Forever is an inner city farming commune, an old warehouse (with sizeable compound around it) that has been turned into ... well, an inner city farm.
It is run by two Glasswalkers, 'Moni Tree' (Adren Theurgy) and 'Lez Zeplin' (Athro Philodox): both of the 'City Farmer' camp within that tribe.
~~ The City Farmer Camp has never been a big camp within the 'Walkers: and these are the only two City Farmers in New Orleans, probably the state, even.
But they are aided by a small community of kinfolk from a small handful of tribes, who believe in their project.

This includes Octavia's Aunt and Uncle ... and their daughter (Octavia's younger cousin), Anika.

As Anika grew up, she hoped that (like many kinfolk, I guess) she'd transform into Garou.  But it never happened.
Anika did love 'the farm', though.  She always seemed to love the plants, and the bugs, beetles and insects that came with the gardens.

Then, a year or so ago, Anika became very sick; and was comatosed by the fever.   The Garou were unable to help her.
But strange things happened: most notably, the plants around her room began to grow supernaturally fast, growing into her room as though reaching for her.
The Garou say that the plant spirits at the time could only explain that they sensed her pain, and need to help her.

Nobody really understand how or why, but just as quickly as the fever came on, it subsided.
And once awake, young Anika felt ... changed.   She claimed that she'd felt the life force of the planet itself, of the living plants and things around her ... and had drawn in that strength to sustain herself ... and heal herself.

And since then, she has been performing 'small miracles' with the plants at the farm.
Word was sent out, looking for advice: for what she had not transformed into Garou, though the spirits of the area felt that she held great mystic potential.  And soon enough, a witch (saying that she belonged to a tradition of magic called Verbena) from a commune far to the north presented herself.  She claimed after some investigation, that Anika was indeed a witch like herself.

The woman stayed at Concrete Fields for many months, tutoring Anika ... and wanted Anika to come away with her.  But Anika refused, choosing to remain with her family and the commune (and as Werewolves were involved, the Verbena witch chose not to force the issue).  But she did eventually leave: leaving Anika with a basic understanding of the Verbena ways, and what Anika now was.

So recently, to expand Anika's experiences with the world (both mundane and supernatural), her parents and the City Farmer Garou have encouraged Anika to spend time with her big cousin, Octavia.
Something that thrills young Anika, as she has become very enamoured with Octavia (being an awesome cousin, werewolf and badass).  Anika has developed something of a idol worship for Octavia, and has become akin to a shadow, or a sidekick for her cousin.

Anika loves the new potential that she has; but truth be, some parts of her still harbour some Garou Envy.
