Owner and sole employee of Rome Detective Agency.

Right out of high school he spent a few years in the service, Navy, but he wasn't cut out to be a sailor, but it at least paid for college afterwards. For his education he went in for law school, Chase was very interested in anything to do with those cold case files you could watch on the tube. To him, it was obvious early on as to who had done it based on the evidence.

But he didn't get the chance to finish his education. While walking home one evening to his apartment, crossing a bridge he had travelled across numerous times, he noticed an older lady climbing over a safety railing. Chase intervened, but unfortunately, she was determined to jump, and took him with her as he wouldn't let go. He woke up months later in a hospital, finding out she had died despite his efforts.

Chased derailed for nearly a year after this, finding himself alone and homeless. It was during this time that he started to develop an Empathy sense. It was a slow build, as if he was training himself without a manual, but there it was, an ability to feel anger, pain, hope and love from the people around him. But... the infuriating thing about it was that this ability, this... power, was inconsistent, he had no control over it. the damn thing would turn on and off at the worst possible moments. Over that year, Chase learned to deal with this new ability, mostly... there were rare moments when it came at him blindingly powerful.

And so a year went by... Chase got himself gathered back together and worked his way into the police academy. He made Homicide detective eight years after graduation and thought he was doing what he had always wanted. Except... his position made him have to play the game of politics, and this was something he hated with a passion. Every case deserved the same amount of attention given to it as any other one. Yet that wasn't the way the game was played. Disgruntled, Chase left the department and started Rome Detective Agency.

He's been fighting the good fight ever since.
