Bree

Bree really doesn't have a set date in her history when she remembers her powers appearing. To her, it seemed as if they all appeared little by little, though she was mightily thankful her leaping came near last. She couldn't imagine the smear marks of flesh she would have left on that first jump if her skin hadn't already been so dense and tough. At least the changes hadn't done anything cosmetically, she still looked the same and her skin was still as soft. Which was probably a darn good thing considering what Bree did to make any kind of living. Well, ~had~ been doing up to recently, anyway.

For the last five years of her life, Bree had been a prostitute. She wasn't proud of it, hadn't planned to ever be a whore, but it had happened. A one time Child of the State, Bree had lived her early years in various foster homes, in which for the most part she had been treated decently enough, but when had turned 18 there was no one around to come to collect her and take her to a nice home. She was suddenly alone and penniless.

She had been desperate for money when the first one had made the offer. It shamed and embarrassed her every time the memory came up, but she had taken the cash and slept with the guy. She had eaten well the next day, and rented a room to shower and sleep in as well. That alone led her the rest of the way down into the sex trade.

That's where Rex had found her. Rex... her pimp. She had pulled a trick in the guy's territory where he had other girls already set up at, and had been beaten for it after he had taken her money. When he had ~offered~ to protect her from it happening again there was little she could do but agree. She had no money, no car, no way out. The next couple of years are blurred in her mind as she slept with one person to another, making her existence as best she knew how at the time.

Her toughness appeared first.

Rex liked to make sure to smack his girls around, to ~keep them in line~. And his relationship with Bree hadn't been any different. Until the day he had backhanded her and she hadn't even flinched. They were both surprised, to say the least, her most of all as she stood there open-mouthed in shock as he was holding his now sore hand. He never hit her again after that.

Her super strength was next.

She had thrown Rex through a wall when she finally found the nerve to intervene as he was beating up one of the other girls. Bree had had enough, and served notice that they were down with him touching them... all of them. As far as she knows to this day he hasn't laid a finger on any of them again. She still whored though, she didn't know any other way.

The rest of her powers came the day she found an enemy for life.

Some dude with powers had just scored a hit and was enjoying himself in a spending spree. Somehow he knew Rex and wanted two girls for the evening. Bree and Molly had been picked, Rex's go to Salt and Pepper package. Everything had been going well enough, as well as whoring themselves out could ever go. There were the occasional times that things were actually pleasurable, like being with Molly, who was one of her best friends. But the guy started to get rough, real rough, and even though the girls asked him to stop he was getting rougher by the minute. Bree put him into a wall after he had punched Molly in the face. Lo and behold, the guy stood up grinning... and her first real fight began.

The battle that followed was her awakening point of who and what she really was now. It initially raged through several floors of the inn they had been in as they traded blows and went through walls, but when he tried to jump away outside she was able to follow him. She pummeled the guy senseless and left him there under the trees of a nearby park, returning to help Molly get out of the inn. She found out later that the guy had vanished from the park, but not her life.

He showed up in the neighborhood occasionally after that, always looking for Bree, always wanting to ~continue~ that little party they had started that night. Without realizing she was some kind of superpowered person she had already helped establish her very own Arch Enemy, a guy she only knew as Dozer.
