Small even by gnomish standards, Amberley Thistlewicket is sometimes mistaken for a child (or halfling) at first glance.  But her diminutive size belies her intelligence and drive.

Amberley knew what she wanted to be, even as a small child.  Though her family had been woodcarvers for generations, she had no particular interest or aptitude for the trade.  The world was a magical place; some people could see and mold the magic to their wills; case closed.

She apprenticed under a local hedge wizard named Madame Mabrig, but in a few years surpassed the old woman in both drive and raw potential, if not power.  Further study in more formal settings fine-tuned her nascent skills, but soon Amberley realized that to advance at the rate she wished, she would have to strike out on her own.  Inexperienced from a worldly perspective, and prone to social miscues at times, her knowledge is still impressive, even among other fledgling wizards.  One day, the Thistlewicket name will be scribed among the greatest wizards of History!
