Sirilay

Sirilay had a sheltered upbringing in Silverymoon, raised by her mother in the church of Mystra. She had a happy childhood, especially as she was given the run of the grounds. She spent most of her time either in the small library, absorbing information like a sponge,  or in the temple farm, tending the goats and chickens. Her thirst for knowledge was soon recognised and so she was inducted into the church’s mysteries. She excelled in her studies and soon began to learn of the arcane. Despite the rough and tumble of living with three-score other girls, her sweet nature meant she avoided the worst of what could have been on offer.

Having completed her studies, she was due to take up a position as a teacher in a village in the south, when a bloody raid meant there was no longer a village to go to. Rather than return north, she headed west and found herself at Waterdeep.

Personality:
Sirilay is a bright and bubbly girl (yes, she is still very much a girl) who has only recently seen the darker side of life. She looks for the best in people and is concerned at the plight of common folk, but most of all, she wants to read everything that has ever been written!

Appearance:
Sirilay is small and slight of frame. She wears a blue cloak as do all acolytes of Mystra, and she bears her goddess’ star on a headband on her forehead. She wears her wavy hair loose past her shoulders as befits a maiden. Beneath the cloak, she wears an embroidered jerkin that her mother made for her, above a homespun shirt. Her skirt was once brightly coloured and gay, but is now faded from use. Her boots are sensible, although it is plain that she will need a new pair before long.
