Adrian is a recently, unwillingly, retired Imperial Strike Fleet Navigation Officer off the Shadow Sword--a Bastion Class Battle Cruiser. It seems the cruiser went into fleet docks for a fuel rod change and while in the docks broke her back requiring a five year over haul and a mandatory re-assignment of most of her crew and an unloading of her more senior officers.  Thus Adrian was "down-sized". He received the usual letter of recommendation, cashing out of benefits, hand shake and a low passage onboard a medium freighter to anywhere Andropov Star Lines operates ... within a two light year jump ... which means to the next nearest hell hole!

He is NOT a happy camper! He knows his life isn't over, but has yet to wrap his head around this new 'unemployed' career.

More out of force of habit, he signed on to the Star Dancer as the pilot and navigator (even though the Captain prefers to do that). Even the Captain needs a back-up.
