Talja Gröen is short, with pale skin, grey eyes and dark hair, and pretty, though not really beautiful facial features. She wears her uniforms slightly loose to soften the effect of her physique, making her look slightly dumpy.

When seen without her uniform, especially in the hologym, she is nothing less than striking - a sharply sculpted anatomy study in pale pink marble. When exercising, she is oblivious to all else, listening to the "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony over and over as she goes through her workout, often hogging the hologym to herself for hours at a time if allowed.

Talja is somewhat shy and withdrawn, especially so when her sister Greta was missing in action with her ship, the USS Challenger NCC-74695, after meeting the Borg in combat at Earth in 2374. When dejected, she will take refuge in that most Germanic of all remedies, chocolate, exercising furiously afterward to work off the extra calories. Her best friend is Lieutenant (j.g.) Talana Kal, who shares her passion for chocolate.
