Akuekei aka The Professor, is an Aslan from a more traditional offshoot of the second sons from the Darrian Confederation. He had a difficult childhood and suffers a great deal of low self esteem. He performed admirably in his studies, mostly to avoid his homelife. He volunteered for the militia and was glad to work hard in that. He fought hard and was commissioned then  injured during his first term. In his second term the story of his fighting prowess became so exaggerated that he was promoted twice. He couldn't take the accolades. People were already giving him inordinate respect as a professor and he taught fighting in the militia. But feeling confused he left. He wanted to work for an organized crime syndicate he had known in his childhood neighborhood but they rejected him, the Don wanted him to do better for his family's sake.

He got odd jobs including working as a space line medic. Then continued wandering as a bandit preying on Zhodani. Well he tried anyway. Instead of making a robbery he got caught up in a real civil war and discovered the professor is more idealist than criminal.
