Vincent Pike

Name: Vincent Pike

Nickname: Vin, Vince (But never Vinny, God help you if you call him Vinny)

Age: 21

Birthplace: Baybridge, spent several years away from home

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Play-By: Andrew Garfield

Occupation: Stuntman

Physical Description:

Vince stands an even 5'10" with a lithe, almost lanky build.  He is athletic, but not overly muscled, built for speed and endurance rather than raw strength.  His physique is the result of many years of exercise, sports, and training, all of which led to him being an accomplished distance runner.  Some can out-sprint him, but few can keep up with him past a mile.

Body aside, Vince has chocolate brown hair with a tint of golden in the right lighting, to match a pair of brown eyes and thick eyebrows.  He keeps his hair relatively short, short enough that the unkempt look works... although it doesn't save him from a fair bit of work most mornings.  Flannel and button-up shirts are a mainstay in his wardrobe, coupled with jeans, functional and durable shoes or boots, and a single, durable black leather jacket with padded elbows and shoulders, given to him by his father.  He also has a set of proper riding leathers, for when he rides a motorcycle.

Distinguishing Features:  Unfailing smile, 'big' hair that's both simultaneously unkempt and well styled.  Black leather jacket that never leaves his wardrobe - if it's not being worn, it's somewhere nearby, or slung over his shoulder.  The jacket is his father's, given to him before he left home to 'find himself'.

Personality Description: Vince is a decidedly cheery, upbeat fellow.  He can be serious and often is, particularly when it comes to the kinds of stunts and activities he enjoys, and often in such cases his sense of humor tends to take a back seat.  Even still, he lets it out more often than most, which can lead to others assuming he's naught but a jokester.  In truth, he is fairly clever.  His biggest asset is that he knows people, and knows how they work.

Problem is, he can be a bit... distrustful at times, preferring to keep folks at a distance much of the time, thanks to being raised around a man who often sees the worst in people.  He doesn't let it show in the form of hostility though - he's gotten quite good at that.  Instead, he keeps to his jokester nature, often dodging commitment or deeper connections rather deftly, in ways that others don't notice.  In addition, there is his unfailing tendency to speak without thinking, a side effect of his witty nature.  This has cost two girlfriends in the past, though it does benefit him, in cases where he wants to keep a distance from folks.  It does the job for him.

Characters History:  Vince's mother died when he was very young, too young to have any clear memories of her.  He was raised by his father, who had for a time been a police officer and Sheriff of the small town of Baybridge until an injury on the job forced him to retire not long before Vince's eighth birthday.  Relegated to walking with a cane, the old man - William Pike - made it his duty to see that Vince would become a strong, respectable man.  Unfortunately, while he was a good, intelligent man... he didn't know very well how to be a father.  As such, Vince and his old man maintained a strained relationship all through his younger years, up until Vince graduated highschool.  At his most rebellious point, Vince decided that instead of pursuing further education at the state college or university, he would instead leave town to 'find himself', and to live a life more exciting than one could find here.  It was a rash decision, and a bold one... but it was, at the end of the day, something he truly wanted to do.  Reluctantly, William let him go, with a parting gift of his jacket... and the purple '70 Dodge Challenger they had worked on restoring together.

He never did tell Vince about the cancer diagnosis.

Vince spent the next four years living on the road.  He had always excelled in athletics and sports, picking up things from skateboarding, to BMX, to martial arts with relative ease; that, combined with a high degree of skill behind the wheel (thanks to a father's crash-course in aggressive and defensive driving, police-style)... and one particularly lucky moment of being in the right place at the right time, allowed Vince to break into the stuntman industry.  He worked movie sets, halftime shows, and everything in between.  The work kept him on the move too, never staying in one city for more than a few months at a time.  For a while, he was happy, although the longer he was away, the more he began to get... lonely.  He was having fun, but all the hotels and short-term apartments simply didn't feel like home.

Then, Vince received a letter in the mail from Baybridge's current Sheriff, approximately two and a half weeks after he'd last spoken to his father on the phone.  The old man had passed away, after fighting lung cancer that had spread to other parts of his body for almost five years.  Vince dropped everything to head back to Baybridge, arriving just in time for the funeral.  It was a simple affair, just family and friends, most of whom he hadn't seen at all in those four years.  Following the service, Vince met with a lawyer who finalized the auctioning of the old man's will.  All of it went to Vince - the house, the old cruiser motorcycle in the garage, and a modest trust fund that would, for a while at least, allow him to do what he wished.  There was also a video recorded on a DVD, but in the month or so since Vince returned to Baybridge, he still hasn't watched it.

Goals: Though he won't admit it, Vincent's biggest goal in life is simply to make his father proud.  William was not a bad father of course, but he was a strict instructor, hard on Vince in order to ensure he was properly prepared for whatever he wished to do.  Now that he has passed away, this is more important to him than ever - his father wanted him to be happy, to be content, and so Vince is searching for that.  Beyond that... Vince does not want to be famous, he simply wants to achieve a status in life that allows him to do the things he wants to do.  As an adventurous fellow, there are quite a few things he would like to do at least once, that can be somewhat expensive.

Likes: Mind games, classic cars, Hockey, confident women (regardless of body type), and competition (regardless of the kind), anything that gets the adrenaline going.  Oh, and burritos.  Nothing beats a long day like a burrito.

Dislikes: People who do not learn from their mistakes, people who don't take safety seriously (particularly when doing dangerous things), Ricers (god help you if you have a lowered civic that sounds like a lawnmower), Brussels sprouts, being called Vinny, people who disrespect their parents, and slutty women (it's not the number that makes one a slut, but the manner with which they approach it; one night stands do not make one a slut nor does a revealing outfit, and there's a fine line between confidence, and sluttiness)

What people know of his Powers:  In general, most aren't even aware Vince has any powers.  The only evidence of any supernatural ability can and has been attributed to him having excellent reflexes and eyesight, which make sense for one who has made a career so far in working as a stuntman and coordinator.
