Caraid

To say Cáraid is ugly is would do the man a disservice. The warrior's features would be strong, commanding even- if not for the sheer number of disfiguring scars that mar his face. So instead of having a face that would not look out of place on a statue in a Cynis' villa, he looks like a drunken Cynis took exception to his face with a chisel.

The warrior is a big man, solidly built and just starting to run to fat. His skin is the the sun-browned skin of a near-easterner, his hair the mousy-brown most common in the Hundred Kingdoms. The blind eye, scars, repeatedly broken nose, cauliflower-and-nicked ears, and crook-toothed grin make the man look more like a bandit than anything else, and Cáraid himself seems to do nothing to dissuade that impression. His buff jacket is ragged and worn, but well-maintained, only adding to the impression of a man who lives by casual violence.

Only his baldric and the twin sheaths disrupt the impression of a bandit chieftain grown fat on loot. The leather is high-quality and well kept, with silver ornamentation woven in complex patterns around the paired sheaths. They both hang on his left side, a stark contrast to the rest of the hefty man's character.
