Mason Burke

Name:Mason Burke
Age: 25
Class: Illicit (Lawless)
Character Visual:

Theme:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hQ0-9Iy6I4

Appearance: A dirty mop of dark brown makes up Mason's hair, it matches quite well with his equally drab eyes. He's lanky but well fit, a build well suited to a man who works too much, and eats too little. His hands are callused, and his fingernails are cracked with dirt underneath them. He often looks shifty, and sports a scowl.

Distinguishing Features:
His neck has a brand on the back of it, marking him as a murderer.

Personality: Often seen as hostile or crude, Mason is self-serving at his core. He's brash, lacks empathy for those who can't help themselves, and often delegating nicknames rather than bothering to learn people's names. He's desensitized to violence, and has been getting his hands dirty to keep himself alive for years. It's not often he has a soft spot, but he's forgiving for people less fortunate than he is.

Occupation: Thug
Special Talents: A good brawler who isn't afraid of throwing his weight around, and knows how to prove a point, and knows how to strip cars and other unwanted things for their valuable parts. He's also been around enough addicts to notice when he sees one.

History: Thieves, vandals, the cutpurse. These are the people you try to forget about, that society tries to eradicate. It's Mason's way of life. He was born into poverty, raised with nothing and fell into the wrong crowd. His father was killed by the vanguard, and *someone* had to take care of the family. Chester did what he could with a factory job, but a little bumper at the end of the month always helped. A few fenced watches, or a couple of scrapped copper wires from the factory no one needed. Mason got real creative when his brothers got a little too close to starving to death. Long story short, he had a long list of sins he'd gotten away with, (more or less), but this last job was the straw that broke the camel's back. He just had to oversee some boxes of whatever out of the city, and collect the payment. And while he realized it wasn't going to the fairy godmother's house, he didn't plan on working with the resistance... It just, sorta, happened. That, of course was not a satisfactory answer for the vanguards that caught him.

Family:
Father- Max Burke(Deceased)
Mother- Mary Burke
Elder Brother- Chester Burke
Younger Brother-Nick Burke

Likes and Dislikes (non-sexual):
Likes- Food, Firearms, general accountability, Money in any form.
Dislikes- Hunger, 'Heros', Cowards, Con artists & such, the cold.

Worst Fears:
Intimacy: Mason does not take relationships lightly, he's seen life wrenched from people in some of the most gruesome ways imaginable. There's little wonder why he's fought so hard to protect his family; he's lost friends to neglect, family to the law... everyone who gets near him tends to fall to a death curse of sorts. It's why he does his damnedest to repulse people away who get too chummy with him. (He also has a rather poor reaction to scantily clad people.)

Starvation/Cannibalism: They say money is the reason for the evilest things in life, but 'they' have never been so hungry it's kept them awake at night. Mason's felt the pangs of hunger, and has fought a bitter battle against it since the day he was born. Desperation has driven Mason to eat nearly anything he could scavenge; rats, dogs, garbage, etc. The point being, there's only a single line Mason hasn't crossed. Not to say it hasn't been considered...on those painful nights, days since the word 'hunger' held any semblance to what he was feeling. 'It was just meat after all. All of them...just meat.' It was his most ashamed memory, one that's stuck with him through the years, growing like a cancer at the back of his mind. What would've happened if the soup kitchens hadn't reopened?
