Asho Iduska

Ash stands around 6’6” tall and weighs around 280 lbs.  He is lean and muscular, but still incredibly strong.  As a Nagaji, he resembles a human from the feet to the neck, but from there he looks quite different.  His eyes are lidless like a snake, blue in color.  Ash has a slightly forked tongue and while his teeth look primarily human, his canines are slightly longer and sharper than most humans.  His nose is so flat it is almost non-existent.

Ash’s skin is primarily light green with slashes of dark green.  He wears a light, chain-shirt armor that had already seen years of use when he picked it up at Pent-In.  Over the armor he wears a brown leather vest covered in small pockets of varying sizes.  He always seems to be picking things up and stashing them there.  Ash wears a worn leather backpack and a light crossbow with a bayonet attachment.  On one hip he wears an empty scabbard and on the other is a coiled scorpion whip.  In fact, most of Ash’s visible person is covered with pockets, weapons of varying types, or odds and ends of equipment that he has picked up.  Despite the many weapons carried on his person, Ash typically fights bare handed.

Professionally, Ash is a miner.  He spent years at Pent-in being farmed out to a mining operation well outside of Ptolus, though he has not been there in a couple of years and was never paid for his work, as all funds were transferred to Pent-In.  Ash has not worked as a miner since leaving the orphanage.

In terms of skills, Ash is a traditional brawler.  He has an incredible ability to mimic fighting styles and abilities that he has seen only once or twice.  During his time working in the mines, Ash had to opportunity to work with a wide variety of beings from many different races.  Most of them had spent at least some time in military service, as a house guard, city watch, gang, band of bandits, etc.  As the evenings at the mining grounds were uniquely boring, the workers often held exhibition matches, which afforded Ash the opportunity to accumulate an incredible library of capabilities.  Although his use is often slightly off-kilter of what a true practitioner of the art might do, it is almost always a surprisingly effective approximation.

Ash is perpetually the guy who “once knew a guy who could do this or that” and he enjoys providing running commentary mid-battle of exactly where he picked up X skill;  it seems to help him focus and bring his approximation of that skill to life.

Personally, Ash is a loudmouth who likes to make jokes at the expense of others, and usually has a quip prepared for any situation.  Though such comments are usually made good-natruredly.

Ash spent most of his life in the Tenpin Orphanage.  He arrived when he was around two years old and has no memories of his family or clan.  At some point he realized that his last name, Iduska, was not a name, but simply meant orphan in the Nagaji tongue.  This realization had a profound effect on Ash, effectively severing any ties or connection he felt to his family.  From then on he also dropped the last name, as well as his given name, Asho, and instead goes only by Ash.

Ash may not admit it, but he is subconsciously motivated by a desire to outrun the name Orphan, often dissociating from society and the world around him to focus on things that are more immediate.  This makes him less goal oriented, and easier to be steered by natural leaders like Crow.
