Mark had signed up for one of the USA's less successful, unjustified, and illegal wars. Mark had been a true believer when he went overseas, but quickly came to learn everything he had been told was wrong. The war was about greed and lies-nothing more. The people they had been trying to 'liberate' where just innocent victims of their dictator. After witnessing one of many very horrible atrocity, Mark lashed out at the military contractors who where guilty of it.

Expect he did not use guns or bombs...his power activated. He had been exposed accidentally to a military test weapon, and now it had a unintended effect on his body and mind. It was loose on the world-with a vengeance. The army overreacted a bit, and proceeded to imprison him. However, he managed to save his unit despite the circumstances. Command would it rather not be publicly known about paying military contractors who committed crimes against humanity. So Mark was discharged back to the main land.

Now Mark still wants to help people-but he may have to help himself first...
