One might say the only thing Evelyne DaVore knew was suffering. Growing up in an abusive household, her parents eventually committed suicide once Evelyne hit puberty. Things didn't turn for the better as she went from orphanage to orphanage, each one experiencing an exponential issue with depression...from the clients to the staff themselves, many of which reached such levels that they simply ended their own lives. Evelyne didn't mind, she was always the odd duck out...smiling when everyone else was slogging through crushing despair. It wasn't long after the last orphanage she left (because it burned down) that she realized she was the cause...because she was a mutant, an astoundingly powerful empath capable of influencing others on an unconscious level to experience heinous amounts of soul-draining despair. A side-effect of her mutant abilities is that when others experience despair, she experiences bliss...in short, she became addicted, and living on the streets left her with an ample supply of lost souls.

She was eventually identified and caught due to a sudden decrease in population amongst the homeless in Kings Row and subsequently sent to the Zig where she was fitted with an inhibitor collar...the worst thing she could possibly hope for, denial of access to her mutant abilities left her in a state of perpetual sickness. When the Cerebreaum caused the Zig to run amok and her inhibitor collar deactivated, the sheer wave of suffering that passed over her caused many of her would-be captors to suffer strokes just by being in close proximity. Hooking up with two previous partners (Twilight and Dominae), Morose may not even felt like leaving if she weren't drug out by Dominae through a one-shot teleport device hastily built and used before they could be recaptured by UV, Windwalker and Crimson Fury. Now Paragon City has a horribly addicted and downright lethal emotional parasite on the loose again...will even Dominae be able to keep her in line?
