Officially designated Standard Integration Model - Experimental, STR-I(X) was created as a deep cover and reconnaissance drone by the Technarcy. It was experimental in that previously discovered symbiote lifeforms were used to develop the model for shapeshifting and long-term survival. In combining the symbiote with the Transmode Virus, the Technarcy created a stable cyber-symbiote around an endo-skeletal host frame. While unable to to transmit the virus, the model could blend and learn among the native populations and thus make infiltration by other cells more effective.

Over time, however, the cyber-symbiote was able to instill not only a sense of self to the robotic host, but was able to break it free of Technarcy control. Without a direct controller, Strix, as the pair called themselves, began to wander from planet to planet in search of purpose. Soon, a lust for battle and tracking became its principle priority. With little outside influence, Strix could infiltrate hideouts and safe houses looking for targets. They were a lethal weapon and reveled in the hunt.

Now on Earth, Strix has found no shortage of clients willing to give them difficult tasks. Matching skills against the super-powered beings of the 3rd planet has kept them busy so far, but likely not forever.
