Many of the Barons of the Oedian Kingdom are traceable in historic records to the human nobles during King Oedus' reign. A few of the Barons have risen from brave or dark souls since then. Nearly all of them are known quantities or have been solved due to investigations. Barons do rise and fall with a certain regularity among the lower ranks.

An exception to this case is the Vampiric Baron known as Vladislavl in the Sylvan tongue. No record of the being exists before a century ago when he rides out of the Menscheben directly from the Necropolis at the front of an organized, well-equipped army of ghouls, skeletons, and vampires. This army smashed into Win Danelon and took the fortress within a few days. Since then, the Baron sits on his stolen throne and eyes Win Met which rose to resist him. Conflicts between him, tabaxi, and orcs are common and nearly anything that happens in the south-east corner of the MEnscheben seems under his sway. Even several local barons toe the line of his Order of the Crimson as more than a few have met their own grisly ends by resisting his orders.

Whatever this being is, he is different from other barons if for no other reason than the undead around him seem stronger, more organized, and more disciplined. Even the Order of the Black Brothers, a cabal of Black Oedian warlocks, seems to kowtow to him and sends a cohort to serve him at Win Danelon.

What his origins are and what role he has to play in the future are clouded mysteries, but many among the Oedians see him as the undead version of the six heroes and treat him thusly.
